Apple Tree Golf Course

An upscale, public course, Apple Tree is known for its apple island green on its signature hole, number 17. A par 72 course, Apple Tree blends ponds, streams, hills, trees and large greens to create a challenging and beautiful round of golf. A cart is recommended, as it’s a significant hike from green to the next tee on several holes. Apple Tree offers a full-service pro shop, a driving range, practice putting green, a snack bar and a very nice restaurant (966-7140). The facility also includes a couple small meeting rooms. Apple Tree can be rented for tournaments. Condos and homes are being developed around the facility (see www.appletreeresort.com). Suntides Golf Course

This public course is located eight miles West of Yakima off Highway 12. An eighteen hole par 70 course, Suntides is fairly flat and well-maintained. Suntides includes a pro shop, snack bar, cart rentals, driving range, practice putting green, a chipping green and a banquet room. The course can be rented for tournaments. The course is open daily from dawn to dusk.

Westwood Golf Course

Westwood is a nine hole public course, par 35. The course features a pro shop, cart and club rentals and a driving range. The course features numerous fruit trees. It can be rented for tournaments.

Fisher Park Golf Course

City owned and operated, Fisher is a par 3, nine hole course. With holes ranging from 90 to 190 yards, Fisher is a great place to work on your irons and play a little target golf. The course includes a snack bar, practice putting green and club rentals. Walk on, tee times are not necessary.

Mt. Adams Country Club

Located just outside of Toppenish (about 25 miles from Yakima), the course provides breath-taking views of Mt. Adams. This semi-private club offers a challenging 18 hole course with a par 72. Tight fairways reward those who can hit it straight. The club is open year round and has food and liquor on site. Mt. Adams has a pro shop and cart rentals.

River Ridge Golf Course

Located near the Yakima Elks Course outside Selah, River Ridge is a nine hole course that opened in 2003. The par 31 course covers approximately 2186 yards. The course includes a four acre lake and bridges blended into the design to protect natural habitat. River Ridge has a clubhouse, pro shop, full bar, carts and rental equipment. The restaurant has a lodge-type appearance. There is 2800 square feet of deck, with 700 of that covered. The course can be rented for tournaments.

A private 18 hole course that offers beautiful views of the city and valley. The Country Club provides members with outstanding golf, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a driving range, practice green, locker rooms, lessons, a full-service bar and a very attractive dining room/banquet facility.

Yakima Elks Golf & Country Club

This private club claims that this is the oldest course in the State of Washington. The fairways are somewhat open, but they are all tree lined. The greens are flat, small, and medium speed. There is water that comes into play on four holes, and there are some sand bunkers positioned throughout the course. The signature hole, nicknamed "Lake Grabenstien" is #14, a 452-yard, par 4, which requires a tee shot over water to the fairway. The ladies' tee also has a men's course rating of 67.2 and slope of 113. They have a reciprocal guest policy and have a collared shirt, no cut-offs, denim OK dress code.
